List of our students currently studying in the uk

Since 1999, we have been assisting prospective students for study in Britain . Our service can be summarised in the following 3 points:
•  Provide information on schools/programmes and counselling
•  Guarantee admissions and accommodation in Britain
•  Assistance and advice for student visa applications and procedures.

We have so far successfully placed over 30 students in various language schools, Colleges and universities in Britian. See our “List of Students” page.

•  Students from overseas (African) countries most often require some form of pre-study in Britain before starting their course itself. Also, qualifications obtained from other countries are very often not considered as equivalent to similar British qualifications. Students therefore almost always have to study ENGLISH LANGUAGE and/or do a FOUNDATION/ACCESS PROGRAMME in Britain prior to their chosen course. This depends on their level of English, the course they intend to do and the school they choose to attend.

THE STUDENT'S LEVEL OF ENGLISH:                    [Up]

Students can study English in a Language School , in a College, or in a State University Language courses may last up to 1 year, depending on the student's initial level. Several Language Schools offer English courses to prepare students for study in Britain . These courses prepare students for the IELTS and TOEFL tests required by Universities and Colleges. We have herein provided a list of a few language schools with their tuition fees.

 FOUNDATION / ACCESS PROGRAMMES:           [Up]

The Foundation Programme is a 1 year course designed for students from different educational systems (E.g. that of Cameroon ) who require a foundation/preparation before going to a university or College in Britain . This course usually starts in September or January. Young adults aged 21 or above and who have a lower secondary school certificate (E.g GCE O Levels) can also be accepted. However, students applying for Foundation courses are always required to have at least an intermediate level of English. Foundation programmes lead to almost all university/College courses EXCEPT Medicine. N.B: Medical schools always require that students have at least 3 “A” grades at the British GCE A2 levels. It normally takes 2 years to prepare for the GCE A2 levels.

 POSTGRADUATE STUDY                    [Up]

Holders of Bachelors degrees or equivalent looking to pursue postgraduate study (Masters degree) may be required to complete a PRE-MASTERS programme (4 months to 1 year depending on the school/course)

DISTANCE LEARNING: This is the least costly method of study, not requiring the student to go to Britain . There are many opportunities for distance/correspondence study in Britain , though only a limited number of courses can be offered this way. Please contact us for further details.

ACCOMMODATION: WHERE SHALL I LIVE WHILE I STUDY?                [Up]

When we apply for your admission to a school, we also ensure that convenient accommodation is found. That is done through the school such that your accommodation is confirmed before you leave your home country, and before you even apply for a student visa. When we obtain your final acceptance letter, we also obtain a letter of accommodation. There are generally 3 types of accommodation for students:

•  Student residence : 110.000 – 175.000 cfa per week, with or without meals depending on the choice. Advantages include security and independence. Some residences are within or near the school premises, so students do not have to pay transport to and from school.

•  British Host Family : 90.000 – 135.000 fcfa per week including meals.

•  Apartment sharing with one or more other students : 55.000 fcfa or more per week without meals. Many students eventually prefer this option.
Usually, accommodation is booked with a British host family for an initial period of 4 weeks with meals provided by the host family. During this time the student may look for a more convenient accommodation option. Otherwise, the student may stay with the host family beyond the initial period of 4 weeks and pay the weekly rent until another accommodation is found, if necessary.

JOBS: PART TIME WORK FOR STUDENTS IN BRITAIN                [Up]

The law currently authorises holders of student visas to do part-time work up to 20 hours per week during school time and up to 40 hours per week during holidays. Students usually receive between 4.000 and 7.000 cfa per hour for jobs and this can help them pay their rent, buy their food and/or pay transport).

Almost all students do some form of part-time work to help them raise extra money. Schools usually assist students in their job search by posting vacancy announcements from nearby restaurants, hotels, cinemas, hospitals…
